About
CA Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, a distinguished Chartered Accountant and global accounting leader with over two decades of professional experience, currently serving as Managing Partner of M/s M K P S & Associates LLP. A Fellow Member of ICAI, CPA (Australia), and ACS, he has held some of the highest positions in the profession, including President of ICAI (2024–25) and Vice President (2023–24), along with three consecutive terms as Council Member. He has represented India across global accounting bodies such as IFAC, CAPA, and SAFA.
His expertise spans Government Policy Framework, Audit, CSR, Sustainability Reporting and Governance, complemented by his role as a speaker at over 500 National and International Forums.
He has made significant contributions to the Chartered Accountancy profession through a series of forward-looking and transformative initiatives. These include the implementation of the Unique Document Identification Number (UDIN) to enhance authenticity and curb malpractices, as well as the comprehensive modernization of the ICAI Code of Ethics in alignment with global standards. He has been instrumental in driving technology adoption within the Institute by introducing AI enabled tools such as AI in ICAI Committee, CA GPT, implementing a fully integrated e-office system, launching mobile applications for CA students and the Global CA Diaspora, thereby strengthening digital outreach and operational efficiency.
Further, he has laid a strategic roadmap for the creation of large, globally competitive Indian accounting firms through the formation of the Aggregation of CA Firms Committee and progressive policy reforms—such as extending the demerger lock-in period from 5 to 10 years and enabling LLPs to become partners in other LLPs while preserving the distinct identity of each firm. He also introduced the “40 Under 40” Awards in collaboration with CNBC, aimed at recognizing and motivating young professionals in industry. Demonstrating a deep understanding of student psychology, he initiated a landmark change in examination reporting by replacing the traditional “Pass/Fail” terminology with “Successful/Unsuccessful,” thereby fostering a more positive and encouraging academic environment.
He has also held key regulatory and advisory roles with institutions like NFRA, SEBI, IRDAI, and C&AG, reflecting his influence in shaping financial reporting and regulatory standards in India.
Currently, he is actively engaged at the international level as a Member of the International Panel on Accountancy Education of IFAC (International Federation of Accountants) for integration of Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability into the global accounting education framework, with the objective of developing a forward-looking curriculum to be adopted by IFAC member bodies across more than 180 countries worldwide.
His leadership combines professional excellence with a strong focus on technology, ethics, and sustainability, positioning him as a key thought leader in the evolving global accounting landscape.
